We are lucky to have the winds of opportunity blowing in our direction. The southernmost transect of the CROSSROAD-2 voyage was a success with 15 surface-to-bottom oceanographic stations, 3 box core sampling, and recovery of the 4 moorings at the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. Spotting the moorings is very challenging during foggy mornings. We circumvented this challenge by using both the radar of the ship and the visual ability from the crew and scientists on board L’Atalante.

The earlier delay in deploying the deep Argo floats is no longer a concern. All floats are now properly communicating with the satellites and the science team in Bretagne. We have already deployed 2 of the 5 the deep Argo floats so far.
We are now moving to the passage in between the Grand Banks and Flemish Cap. Stay tuned!
